This oval table was designed by James Ryan (b. 1972). It was made in the Barnsley Workshop in Hampshire by Luke Rawlinson.

The top of the table is made using some characterful English oak. The under-structure is in brown oak. Brown oak occurs in some older oak trees and gives the timber a natural warm colour. The underframe is held together without glue. Instead, angled wedges are used. They are made in black bog oak. They will self-tighten as the timber flexes over time, keeping the structure rigid.

The table is 240 cm long, 95 cm wide and 74 cm high.

The Barnsley Workshop stamp can be found underneath the desk.
