New apprentices start

We are very pleased to welcome Edmund Barker from London (pictured here) and Nathan Peach from Aviemore as our two new foundation apprentices. We had a good crop of applicants for this years vacancies and both Edmund and Nathan performed very well on our selection process.

They have started on their very first task which is making a pair of winding sticks for their own use. These are visual aids used for seeing if a surface is flat and not twisted (in wind).

They will soon begin their first official piece of work for the showroom which is an oak octagonal breadboard. This has been the first job for successive Barnsley apprentices going back to the early days of the workshop.
