the individual and unique
nature of each commission.
Commissioning a piece of furniture is an
immensely rewarding experience for clients,
designed to their specification and culminating
in a piece that reflects their taste and lifestyle.
To really appreciate the unique work produced by the workshop, we encourage prospective clients to visit the workshop and showroom. Here they can see and touch finished pieces and also view projects under construction in the workshop.
This has the further benefit of suggesting ideas for a client’s specific needs.
Design Fee
This is payable prior to the design consultation. The amount is not fixed and depends upon the client’s location and the complexity of the proposed piece.
Design Consultation
There is normally a meeting in the workshop or at the client’s home where a design brief is discussed and developed.
Timber and veneer samples can be discussed and photographs of previous work can be used to establish detailing and parameters for the design.
The initial consultation will then move onto the design stage where scale presentation drawings are prepared.
Accompanying this will be a specification, timber samples if appropriate, and a quoted price.
Alterations can be discussed, until all aspects of the proposal are acceptable.
Terms & Conditions
Upon acceptance of the proposal, our normal terms are one-third deposit followed by a further one-third payment halfway through production. Most clients like to combine this intermediate stage with a visit to view their piece under construction. The final one-third payment is due on delivery.
